New Thing: Banish Sloth Today!
Inspiration: Women's Bible Study
Time: All Day
Bottom Line: Proverbs 19:15 “Laziness cast into a deep sleep, and an idle man will suffer hunger.”
Reflection: Today is the last day in our Proverbs week and our goal today will be to banish laziness.
Day Seven: Banish Sloth Today!
Proverbs 19:15 “Laziness cast into a deep sleep, and an idle man will suffer hunger.”
Proverbs 15:19 “The way of the lazy is as a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway.”
Suggested ways to live this out—
Prayer: Again, pray the
prayer from the first day to help dedicate your day to service to our
Lord. Look at your calendar and add at least three prayer times today
(even if they are just for 5 mins. at a time) to be diligently keeping
spiritual laziness away.
Mediation: Be busy is
not the same thing as being active for God. Don’t mistake the to, after
all, if you are to busy to pray you are busier then God created you to
be.
Activity: “Think of a
daunting project or an unpleasant task you would prefer to avoid. Break
the job down into small tasks you can accomplish in one day or less and
write those tasks on a calendar. Post the calendar where others can see
your plan and view your progress. Trust me: this accountability will
help.” Charles R. Swindoll
So, it should be pretty obvious which task I chose to tackle today. I was about 22 days behind on this blog. 22 days!! That was pretty daunting. As you have heard me say before, I love this exercise, but the blog can be tough. Yet, without the blog, I am less motivated to keep on task. Thus, getting behind can feel hard since there is just that much more to do. So, today was the day to not be idle any more! I wrote all 22 entries and am feeling much less unpleasantness! Huzzah!

HUZZAH!!!!
ReplyDeleteNicely done Reverend Hillary. You SO rock!!!!
It stretched into two marathon sessions for me, since I read about half last night and saved half for tonight.
Thanks for the double overdose, it was worth the waiting!!!
Peace out,
Al
