Day 272: 9/30/13- Michaelmas House Blessing and Visit with Old Friends

Day 272: 9/30/13- Michaelmas House Blessing and Visit with Old Friends
New Thing: Sarah Visit and Howland Preserve Blessing
Inspiration: Sarah, Ali, Doug and St. Michael
Time: All day
Bottom Line: What a blessed day!

L. was making a break for it, but the rest of us were laughing our heads off!

Reflection: Today is the Feast of St. Michael and all Angels also known as Michaelmas. I traveled back to my hometown of Tunkhannock to visit with my dear friend Sarah and her lovely boys L. and K who were visiting the state from Colorado where they live. I cannot tell you how good it was for my soul to talk with one of my oldest friends about faith, motherhood, and life in general. It was like we had never been apart. I love you Sarah!

The Howland Preserve

After that we headed over to the Howland Preserve which is situated on the almost halfway mark of the Susquehanna River. Ali and Doug are planning on making a home there as well as keeping the preserve open for groups and for an ecological sanctuary. What a beautiful place! It was a perfect day to offer prayers and blessing!
