Day 75: 3/16/13- Volunteer at the Cradles to Crayons Warehouse in a Box
New Thing- Volunteer at the Cradles to Crayons Warehouse in a Box
Inspiration: Cradles to Crayons, St. David's, Mellisa B.
Time: About 2 hours
Bottom Line: Amazing work done by all the volunteers!

Reflection: Today the whole family headed up to church to volunteer at the Cradles to Crayons Warehouse in a Box event. Here is the description from our website:

C2C is a local non-profit that provides children (ages 0-12) living in low income and homeless situations, free of charge, the basic essentials that they need to feel safe, warm and ready to learn. Visit them online at http://cradlestocrayons.org/philadelphia St. David's supports Cradles to Crayons throughout the year, but is hosting a special warehouse event March 16th & 17th, 2013. St. David's is accepting gently used children's clothing and toys and donations of new items as part of our annual Cradles to Crayons Warehouse event. On March 16th and 17th, the items will be cleaned and sorted for delivery to the Cradles to Crayons warehouse in Philadelphia.

This was the first time I was able to help out with this event and I was very impressed. The entire Fellowship Hall was turned into a warehouse where clothes were sorted and toys were cleaned. Our dedicated outreach team was there in full force and it was great to see the sheer magnitude of donations of both time and items that people offered. I was very happy to be a small part of such a good ministry.
