New Thing: Celebrate Independence Day with Steak, Raspberries and Fireworks!
Inspiration: America
Cost: $0
Time: Several Hours
Bottom Line: God Bless America
Reflection: Happy 4th of July! After work, we decided to grill up a steak (a first for us) and feast on our first raspberries from the garden. We then headed down the historic district for the bandstand program and the fireworks. This was Delia's first firework display and she stayed up way passed her bedtime. Her reaction was mixed--to say the least. She was both delighted and frightened. However, I thought it was a great show and am proud and honored to be a citizen of this country. Here is the Episcopal prayer for this day:
Lord God Almighty, in whose Name the founders of this country won liberty for themselves and for us, and lit the torch of freedom for nations then unborn: Grant that we and all the people of this land may have grace to maintain our liberties in righteousness and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
